The former “U.S. Post Office and Court House” in Jamestown, North Dakota, was built in the late 1920s. The Classical Revival style building, with its limestone faced steel frame structure, pedimented main entry, dentil cornice, and Doric pilasters, served as a local center for communication and federal activities. The District of North Dakota used the building’s second floor courtroom from 1930 until 1948. The building is now part of the Jamestown Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The building has been converted to apartments, but the integrity of the historic Post Office has been retained.
